We chose this trip because it included the Panama Canal, which was a very interesting experience. First time on a Norwegian cruise ship (total of 6 cruises). The service level in the buffet restaurants was poor, staff was courteous but very slow in cleaning the tables. Overall the food was good.
The cabin staff were not exactly rude but not very friendly either. Our cabin was below the smoking area in the pool deck, so every time someone pulled up a chair, lounge or ash tray, you could hear the noise inside our cabin. Needless to say that it was impossible to take a nap at any time, the noise started around 3am. The situation was repeatedly informed to customer service, the Housekeeping Supervisor Radel came to the cabin and personally heard the noise, said he was going to look into the matter but we never heard from him again. On the 9th day Aurie Quintana informed that if we wished she change our cabin but we didn't accept because that meant packing everything again and trip was for 13 days. I consider that maybe if they put artificial grass in the area that might be a solution.
To make matters worse a fly fell into my husbands wine in the Four Season Rest. while we were dining. I was told this is a problem in some ports, but I understand that something should be made to prevent this disgusting situation.
Constant noise from upper deck, no rest possible. Every other day I had to ask for a bar of soap.
