We decided to take this cruise solely because of its itinerary. Overnight in Maui, and Kuaui and two days on the Big Island. We arrived in Honolulu two days before the cruise and were picked up by Dang's Limo-a awesome limo service. We were taken to Hilton Hawaiian Village which I booked through NCL. LONG check in line. I chose to book hotel with NCL for the convenience of them picking our luggage up in room and taking it to the ship. The day before boarding the cruise we used Oahu Private Tours. Our guide Winsor was great fun. He took us on a North Shore tour complete with awesome stops for donuts and lunch at wonderful food trucks. Got to see all the famous beaches and Winsor even jumped off a cliff. Great day! We went to Big Chief's luau that night which was ok but food was not great at all. Very expensive and not worth it. The next morning(the day of the cruise) NCL picked up luggage in room even though we werent sure we would make the shuttle to ship. We had an awesome breakfast at Hula Grill at the Outrigger with a railside view of the beach and Diamond Head. We chose to go to the Aviation Museum of Pearl Harbor the day of the cruise, rather than hurry up and get on ship, then wait until 3 o clock to get to our cabin. We had a docent guided tour at the museum which was awesome. Got so much out of it. Bullet holes still remain from the attack of Pearl Harbor in the hangar. We ate lunch at museum (very reasonably priced for Hawaii) and quiet. We returned to Hilton Hawaiian village at 12:30-turned in the rental car there and made the last shuttle! Embarkation took about 30 min-which was great. What wasn't so great (actually UGLY) was the letter we received from the check in person. It stated the Pride would not be sailing along the Na'Pali coastline. (That was the reason we got the aft balcony) I was upset that this wasn't communicated earlier. To soothe people's tempers over that piece of news, NCL granted each cabin $100 credit.I still was upset. We waited about an hour for the cabin to open up which was a lot better than 3 hours. We had cabin 9200, aft balcony. Our cabin steward, Ricky, was awesome the whole cruise. Always asking if we needed anything. The second day we used AWAPUHI ADVENTURES for a guided tour (just our family) of the Road to Hana. Outstanding company. Could not be beat. Heather was a super guide. Took hikes, saw waterfalls off the beaten path and lunch at a gorgeous spot overlooking ocean even with table linens! The second day in Maui, Matt, with AWAPUHI ADVENTURES took my DH, and daughters hiking up a summit. They had the time of their lives! On this day, the water went off in our cabin making the toilet unoperational as well as showers. Happenned 7am in morning. It was still out when we got back at 4. During the night of the 4th night, the toilet kept running after it was flushed (unbeknown to us) and the bathroom and hall was flooded when we discovered it about 1am. This would happen several times during our cruise and it wouldnt take long to flood. On the third and fourth day we used MARY LOUS BIG ISLAND ADVENTURE. Mary Lou and her husband offer tours of Hilo and Kona. Awesome tour! Again -just our family. (We aren't ones for a bus load of 100 closest friends) On the 6th day in Kauai we went to the KIPU Ranch to do a half day ATV ride. It was a lot of fun! Beautiful scenery. Took a cab to get there and driver promised to come back to get us which he did!. That night we got our only ship excursion-the Manor House and luau. That was well worth it. Well organized! We were shuttled there and promptly had pictures taken, then mai-tais- and then a plantation train. Train ride was great with an overview of the plantation. Hundreds of their chickens chased the train which was hysterical- but we soon found out why since the narrator was tossing out feed. We were then ushered to the Manor House and an awesome 4 course dinner with Hawaiian entertainment and champagne. After the dinner we were led with torch bearers to the luau and given front row seats. After the wonderful luau, we were the first group loaded on the buses back to ship. Nice! The next morning we booked JACK HARTER HELICOPTERS. Awesome! Finally the Na'Poli coast. Waimea Canyon, Jurassic Falls and many more. Beautiful! Nice finish to the last day of cruise. Disembarkation was easy and we were met by Dang Limo who took us to the car rental where we rented a car to get to Pearl Harbo and the Mighty Mo before our flight at 9pm back to Indiana.
