We are using up our cruise deposits as we are not sailing with Norwegian after that. The prices have gone up drastically as if a premium cruise line when they are just a budget line and the quality has gone down. The party band are the worst I have ever heard having done over 35 cruises, the staff and ship are great but if you are booking I would change to another ship. There are many other excellent ships in the fleet and it is a shame that their standards are now dropping with all the Nicholl and dime going on, a good classic is the soft serve ice cream, they put good quality in for the first 2 days and then put the cheap watery stuff in. It is now like going to Golden Corral or ponderosa for your meals instead of a quality cruise ship.We are taking our usual cruise in January with MSC as the norweigen has been so over priced. MSC drink package $30 a day! Norweigen $99 what a rip off! We will be on msc newest ship at a much lower price and higher quality. There is a cruise director however we have not seen him as he sends the assistant director to do all game shows and even the white hot party. Too lazy to attend? The assistant cruise director and staff are great maybe they should promote him. The disembarkation was a total fiasco taking us 2 hours and no organisation which didn’t start until 8.45 causing many problems for people catching flights. Some people we met in the car hire afterwards took 3 hours with no refreshments offered or seating. I can’t recommend Norweigen to anyone as I used to before because they are getting so bad with every cruise, far superior lines are out there for the same money or less.

Port Reviews

Barcelona

Very nice place to visit

St. Maarten

There is a new cruise port now with all the usual retail places but now the previous beach area where you were dropped of has become very run down and not worth visiting.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

A nice port to visit with plenty of cafes and restaurants.
