Ok, quick background. Booked cruise for my wife and I to accompany my wife's 3 sisters on treating my mother-in-law for her 80th birthday. Situation changed and we decided last minute to bring along 3 of our 4 children as well. Carnival worked with us and we were able to get it done with the cabins being close but not side by side. Although my wife and I took a previous Carnival cruise back in 1989, it was too far back and they did not have a record of it so no repeat cruise discount.

Pre cruise hotel: Stayed at Marriott Courtyard in Dania Beach. Very reasonable rate and were able to fit everyone in one room. Clean and provided free shuttle from airport and free shuttle to Port Everglades. Highly recommend this hotel!

Embarkation: Lines were long but they moved relatively quickly. We left our hotel around 1100 am and were in our room on the ship by 1:00 pm with 3 of our 4 bags outside our door. Fourth bag arrived about 2:30 pm.

Cabin Review

Cabin 8

We had cabins 8248 and 8230. They were close to the elevator and had no extra crew noises that we noticed. The 8248 was a balcony room and it was very comfortable. 8230 was an interior with no view but we stuck the 3 kids in there!
