First time on Princess. Have sailed Celebrity,Paul Gaughan, Carnival, Royal Caribbean,Norwegian, Always have a good time on any cruise. The ship itself is showing wear with rust and flooring tears. The cleanliness of the ship was good and the staff was friendly and accomodating. The shows were O.K., I guess if you could get in to see them. Not enough seating and people lining up at 8: P.M. for an 8:45 show. The casino staff was great. The fellow cruisers were older, but so are we. Very interesting to meet and friendly. Just an aside about the crooner in the lounge. I thought it was Bill Murray from SNL. Hearing Beatle songs sung off key, although some might say stylized, is not my idea of good music. Anyway, I digress.
The food was mediocre. Poor variety and some really tough meat. I'm easily pleased in food taste. I like Micky D and fast food as well as better bills of fare but meat that is uncuttable and the same dishes every night was a little surprising for a line with the reputation of Princess.
The itinerary was great and the main reason we sailed this cruise. It didn't disappoint. I guess we are gluttons for punishment but have booked another Princess cruise on the Regal in February. Hoping for a better experience.
The cabin was well designed and provided terrific amounts of storage. The balcony needs to be refurbished and shows signs of wear (rust and tears in mats). The bathroom was ok but taking a shower in the dark(when you close the curtain is an adventure).Bed very comfortable
