We were pleasantly surprised by the upgrade fairy at check-in moving us from an OV to a Veranda. This was our tenth cruise on an M-class ship and our fourth on Connie. As with most Celebrity crews, the hotel officers were visible and approachable throughout the ship, particularly in the evenings. The ship itself is in very good condition considering it has been at sea for 17 years. We are looking forward to the Edgification of the M-class ships as some of the furnishings are showing their age. With the exception of our room steward who needed reminders occasionally, we found the remainder of the crew excellent, particularly Santosa and his team in the MDR. We felt the food was very good and delivered hot each and every time. The menu selections were broad and tasty. Embarkation in Venice was a breeze. We disembarked at the older terminal (tent structure) in Civitavecchia and found it sufficient. Porters were readily available. We particular enjoy the entertainment on Celebrity and found both the cast shows and single entertainers very good. (This is one of the reasons we prefer X over HAL.)
