This was our first cruise so we had nothing to compare against although we have had holidays in many locations, often in mid to high end resorts so have a good idea of the kind of service that most people would expect.
In general we found the whole cruise an absolute pleasure. Embarkation was quick and very painless.. probably 30 minutes from walking through the door to boarding the ship. This was at around 2pm so I would imagine that is a peak time for boarding.
The ship is stunning. As it is so new, everything is spotlessly clean and well maintained. Everything we used (lifts, computer systems, air conditioning etc etc) worked seamlessly.
We had a balcony cabin which was a reasonable size. Small compared to a hotel room but I assume average for a cruise ship. Good sized & comfortable double bed plus a convertible sofa for our daughter. The room also featured a dressing table with stool and a shower room. Some complained that the shower room was small, but I think for average sizes people, you won't have a problem!!
Storage in the cabin is fine for 2 x guests but we struggled for space for our daughter's clothes so they mainly stayed in her suitcases. Two suitcases fit easily under the bed.
We did a private tour of the island including 3 x beaches with Bernards tours. Very fun day and great tour guide.
Got a taxi down to a beach near the Ritz Carlton. Most hotels were closed in the area.. not sure if for renovation or due to the hurricane but the beach was lovely!
