Living only a few hours from Galveston, we drove over the morning of our departure and parked the car....ready for a great cruise! Embarkation was delayed because of a computer glitch...previous passengers were still departing the ship as we arrived. We stood in the embarkation lounge for about an hour...before boarding. No "Welcome Aboard" as we boarded the ship.....we headed to the Windjammer for a late lunch. Food was okay, typical cafeteria food....service seemed to be lacking. After lunch our cabin, #9601 was ready, we checked it out, met our cabin attendant "Mart". He did a great job...except for the day he forgot to give us fresh towels, kinda hard to shower and get ready for dinner with no towels. All in all..he was very good and friendly....heck we all goof up every once in a while!! Since we were celebrating our wedding anniversary on Feb. 14 we had made reservations before sailing for dinner at Portofino's. The food and service were top notch, they provided us with a lovely evening. We made reservations and had dinner on the last night again at Portofino's....same great meal!
Cruise Director Mike was the "BEST" Cruise Director we have ever had in all our years of cruising. What a fantastic job, such a natural, with a amazing personality!! RCCL should hang on to him....I would book another cruise just to be a passenger on his ship.
Entertainment----TEXAS TENORS, the best show we have ever seen on a cruise ship, and such nice guys!!! Well done Mike and RCCL!!! The Ice Show was good for such a small rink. Other shows were okay! Loved "Fountains"!!!
