Day 1: Embarkation went smoothly and we were told to go to the elite section to wait. It wasn’t a long wait and were in our room (that had 2 bottles of wine on the coffee table), dropped our hand luggage off, and in the Club Class dining room by 12:00. A card was left in the room explaining what Club Class meant and how to find the dining room. We had to show our cruise card for entry and then treated like royalty. The dining room is a small area set up in the Amalfi dining room and really easy to find. We were given a table at one of the windows. HEAVEN! The Star has the best set up of all the ships we’ve been on and easy to get around. We went back to our room and met our room steward ( Rolly ) who asked if we’d like a glass of Champagne. The first evening was chilly, just like we were told it was going to be. The Star is starting to show her age, but we loved it anyway. A little rust and chipped paint here and there, just like me. Ha ha. I had pre-ordered 2 cases of water, and they were in the room on our arrival. I had also ordered a Birthday Package and Rolly had it all set up when we came in the room from a delish dinner. My husband was THRILLED.
Day 2: The weather was cold but we were prepared. Capt. Tuvo is not to be missed! His daily status reports were informative AND hilarious! I will never hear the words: BYE BYE, without thinking of him for the rest of my life.
Day 3. 1st formal night. Dinner was excellent! There was never a time we went into the Club Class dining room where we had to wait. We were always seated right away. We did share a table 2 times, but even that went well. The weather was warmer and the sea was flat enough to water ski on.
