Had checked previous reviews regarding Sun Princess cruise ship and got on ship with an open mind.Departed Sydney 05/02/2010 and travelled to following ports of New Zealand. Fjord land cruising, Dunedin,Christchurch,Wellington, Napier,Tauranga(Rotorua),Auckland and Bay of isles.Returned Sydney 18/02/2010.
Ship/crew:nothing but praise -staff were very friendly and nothing was a problem - you asked and you got it.Our room stateroom B206 at front of ship: superb, spacious and cleaned daily with lovely views from window.Meals:more food than the eye could see - watch the waist line. Entertainment:some elderly passengers complained it was too loud and not their type but i found it to be excellent(50,60,70,80 to modern).Suggest to any future travellers - get involved in the on-board activities/games.We used Excellent gymnasium daily and USED STEPS rather than the lifts-this helped to stop us gaining weight from all the good food.
Every night was a great night .The only down side is there is just too much happening and not enough hours in the day to do it all.And that is the plus side of travelling - you can do it all or nothing - the choice is yours. We chose to involve ourselves in everything which meant early mornings (6.30am) and late nights ( 01:30am).Now we need a holiday to recover from this holiday.
B206- stateroom - superb location , hardly anybody walked past (no pedestrian traffic). Ample size, spacious bathroom, closets and room. No issues identified.Great views from window- easily recommend.
