Always a good time!

Review for the Western Caribbean Cruise on Celebrity Silhouette

This was my sixth cruise on Celebrity. All of them have been great! I try not to pack the cruise with too many shore excursions, but rather take some days slower. This trip we did a shore excursion on our own where we took a cab into a local seaside village and had a wonderful lunch on the beach. It was unexpected, very relaxing and the photos make us smile! We also had a private black and white photo session which was well worth it. The photos came out spectacular! I will say, it was expensive, but we have memories to last a lifetime. When on board, we pick a bar and go back during the cruise so the bartender knows how to mix our favorite drinks. The ship is beautiful as is all the Solstice class ships. I'm looking forward to New Years Eve on the Edge! Our cabin attendant was absolutely fantastic and she was always there for us if we needed anything. The only issue that was not favorable was embarkation. The ship was late to arrive at the port so all the passengers had to be put on busses and sent to a local shopping mall in Miami. Then we were told we did not get express boarding as we should have been being Elite captains club, as well as booked in Aqua class. Once we were finally on board, everything was great.

Port Reviews

Key West

Water was cold and rough. Not the tour operators fault, but wasn't as good as hoped for.

Costa Maya

Took a bus into the local village and had a great lunch on the beach. Fresh snapper and ice cold beer. Prices were cheap and the people were very friendly. Took a cab back to the port. Felt safe the whole time and enjoyed it a lot.
