My husband and I chose the Rhine River cruise to emerse ourselves in learning and experiencing the local cultures. Viking shore excursions were an awesome opportunity to achieve this goal. The ship activity director was from Germany and able to suggest excellent local spots to dine and relax and have coffee or enjoy a locally brewed beer. The onboard activities and entertainment were very enjoyable and the adult only atmosphere was greatly appreciated. The Viking staff were A+; from the point of embarkation to disembarkation. Traveling overseas has never been as smooth as this experience.The staff was so attentive to our needs; they gave great attention to every detail. The cleanliness of the ship was top notch. The chef and his staff prepared delicious local fare and offered wonderful demonstrations. In addition, the waitstaff were knowledgeable of local wines and beer. This was our first Viking cruise and it is definitely not our last.
