Choose this cruise because the departure port was close to home - Tampa. First let me say that I've been on a number of Carnival cruises and usually enjoy the food. This ship seems to be the exception. Ship was smaller and didn't have the typical Lido configuration of Guy's, Blue Iguana, large buffet, etc. Instead there were about 6 small, crowded little stations, mostly serving the same food every day - inedible chinese, hockey puck hamburgers, strange tasting Mexican, etc. The chefs seem to be from India or southeast Asia and the spices used were very different. Most Italian dishes did not contain any sort of basil or spice normally associated with Italian food. The pizza was good and the deli sandwiches were ok if you didn't mind standing in line for over 1/2 hour to get one. Desserts, usually my favorite, were hit and miss. One day there were only cookies and several times the cakes tasted stale. Dining room food was only slightly better. Toward the second part of the cruise there were long waits for food at dinner.

My pet peeve on this ship was that the entire starboard side of the outdoor areas seemed to be for smokers and many times the smoke carried over to the other side. Had to avoid the second deck as the smoke was always spilling out of the casino.

Ports were ok, service was good, entertainment below average. No I would never book this ship again.

Cabin 4C

OK after 10:30 pm, before that you can hear the loud music from the Phantom lounge shows.

Port Reviews

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Snorkeling available right by ship. Very clean, well developed island. Rented a car from Budget and toured the island. Only downside was that ship arrives very early before most things are open and last tender to ship is at 2:15pm, short day.

Cozumel

Lots of shopping both in and out of port. Very, very crowded port no nearby beach.
