We chose this cruise primarily because we were interested in Croatia and Corfu, and this itinerary included both. We were able to work with our agent, Enzo, to accommodate a deviation so we traveled independently through Europe and arrived in Venice to embark. The ship was immaculate, service outstanding, meals perfect for our dietary needs, and the shore excursions were well-organized and interesting. I was amazed at the efficiency with which so many passengers were shuttled to their many destinations. We also booked the post-cruise extension in Athens which was also worked out well for our needs. Our Viking representative at the hotel was very helpful in recommending a fabulous restaurant within walking distance and making suggestions for arranging our sight-seeing desires. My only criticism, and it is just a personal one, is that I wish there were shore excursion options that would provide guidance to get passengers safely from the ship and back with a self-guided itinerary recommended. I would not be comfortable trying to find my way back and forth to the port, but I am an independent tourist and found many of the guided tours too tedious and the guides "long-winded." I enjoy visiting at my own pace, reading signage and guidebooks, rather than being lectured. Perhaps there were options like that, but we were not made aware of them.
