Paris and Rouen excursions were great, but this cruise was all about Normandy and the American Cemetery. Viking had a respectful and moving agenda at the cemetery, and I still get choked up telling the tale to friends. Service with Viking is always a key feature, and each member of the staff wants to make the customer happy. I never saw a staff member frown. We had some small transfer issues that the managers handled quickly and appropriately. The food was superb, and the enrichment activities and lectures were most informative. Every shore excursion, both included and pay as you go, were professional and sharp. One small disappointment. The Paris dock was more than 30 minutes from the city center. If you expect to walk off the boat and stroll to the Eifel Tower you will be let down. My first trip to Paris, and I want to go back! You will see the Louvre, Notre Dame, and Eifel Tower on day two... wonderful! Thank you, Viking... you always exceed expectations.

French Balcony

The French balcony is all that’s required on the river cruises. Do you want to get a view of the river in the area, but once your docked, the public areas and on shore excursions don’t require sitting on a balcony.
