We chose this cruise because we thought we were going to the Mexican Riviera but instead we were informed 1 hour after we left the port that because of a hurricane heading towards Mazatlan the cruise line was forced to revise our itinerary. We were informed that our new ports would be San Francisco, San Diego and Ensenada, Baja California. I had booked a total of 2 balcony cabins and 1 Haven suite because we were taking our family of 5 on the cruise and our grandchildren had never been on a cruise before. The total cost of the 2 cabins and Haven suite was over $17,000 and we basically never left California. We all had been to San Francisco and San Diego many times in the past and had no desire to go back and there is nothing to do in Ensenada.
Needless to say, we all came with shorts, tee shirts and bathing suits so when we got to San Francisco we did not have appropriate clothing to get off the ship with the chilly conditions that we encountered.
I understand that the cruise line changed the itinerary due to their concern for the safety of the passengers and crew but they had to know about the hurricane before we left the port in Long Beach and should have given everybody the option to get off the ship if they wanted to. In addition, the cruise line offered no kind of credit or rebate for the inconvenience.
Cabin was decent size and very clean
