This was my very first cruise and frankly I'm not sure I even want to go on another due to my constant not so good experience on the ship.
I chose to book a studio room because they are displayed as a great experience for solo traveling. While my friends I was traveling with had a standard interior room. The studio rooms location was okay and made since; however, the air in the hallway stunk the entire cruise. Not appealing to walking into stagnant sewage air before you get to your room everytime. They attempted to brighten things up with colorful lights and windows from the rooms into the halls. No point to a window beside someone's bed that goes directly to the hall. Needless to say, that stayed closed the entire cruise duration.
Experiences outside my room, the ship had pipe burst prior to leaving the port, no water aboard for a few hours... They did their best to get it fixed as quickly as possible but not being able to use the restroom after traveling so long/far was not a great experience. Nonetheless, things happen. Walking throughout the ship, the positive atmosphere/attitude from crew members was hit or miss. As the cruise went on some attitudes became better.

My room wasn't ready for me when I checked in, the door had "welcome" and all the materials portraying it was ready. However, there was no wash cloth or no towel to step out on from the shower. My rooms' sink plunger didn't work properly nor did the hand soap dispenser. The plunger was resolved, the soap despenser was not. At least a bar soap was provided so I was able to use that instead of the hand soap dispenser. When I first walked into the room, there was a "sharps" container on "display" on top of the sink. Great that they are there, uncomfortable that mine was put on display. I had to ask for a laundry bag, where as other rooms already had them inside. When I turned in laundry I thought it would be replaced, not the case. Laundry service was a quick turnaround, on a positive note. After making a complaint about the way my room was when I arrived, they attempted to resolve the issues as I have stated. Why it took a complaint to ensure my room was made up for me, I don't know.

Went to Pompeii and Sorrento. Our Sorrento guide was on time and very knowledgeable. They also stopped for great views. Overall, very cool places to go.
Rome (Civitavecchia)
Great tour experience, very busy in Rome so make sure you bring great walking shoes. Tons of things to see!
