Sailed out of New Orleans on the Triumph on a beautiful February day. Trip started wonderfully as we were able by luck to go thru VIP check-in, bypassing about 150 other folks..Muster drill is great because you don't have to take life jacket?? Got to cabin 10th deck balcony..Room is adequate size and had a ton of storage. Bathroom is pepto-bismol pink but fine. Met cabin steward, a wonderful, darling man who took excellent care of us...even turned our trash can into an ice chest for us!! We wanted to bring him home!! First day at sea was rainy and it seemed to me that on this ship there were just not as many organized activities..This is my 3rd carnival cruise. Day 4 -at sea - cold and rain....Again, just not that much to do organzied activity... See below for day 2/3 Food: We had the 'your time dining' You can eat anytime between 5:45 and 9. I liked that in theory....We wound up missing dinner twice because we were doing something else because we did not have a time we had to be there...Not the cruise lines fault, my own...The food was good overall - some even delicious, with the dining room being the best. The buffet lines were horrible - LONG!!!!! We did eat the Hong Kong Noodle once and was quite yummy and the NY Deli was good as well. The buffet was just too much of a wait for me.. POOL - This is my only legitimate real complaint...The lido deck pool tiles were rusty and gross looking...If it had been very hot on ship days I would not have gotten into that pool...On the good side, the back pool is covered if it is raining but I didn't happen to notice the clean factor of it.. All of the staff was very good...Just not as energetic and 'FUN' as the other carnival cruises I have been on... We liked the casino, the disco was pretty happening also....The last night appreciation party was fun with a live band and free drinks that were really flowing...(gotta get a freebie somehow)I heard the burlesque show was quite good and not too raunchy and the magic was good too. There were lots of school age kids and younger adults on this ship.. Overall, a very enjoyable cruise and I would cruise with Carnival again for sure just maybe not on this ship...I liked Valor and Fantasy much better for reference...

Cabin Review

Cabin 9A

Tons of storage, fairly close to elevator but not noisy at all...Again, pepto pink bathroom but it was totally adequate...Also, not too far from icemaker if you need to get your own...
