So excited to try a new Norwegian ship. Think perhaps the Escape is a bit too big. Leaving New York was more difficult than necessary and disembarkation was simply awful. The cruise itself was exceptional. Why would a cruise line want the last memory of the experience to be negative.
Food excellent especially Moderno, La Cuchina and Cagney's. Excursions went super well. Great time in Florida. Great time in Great Stirrup and loved Balmoral Island excursion in Nassau. Was disappointed we couldn't get the Blue Lagoon but it worked out fine. Loved Balmoral.
Garden buffet is what it is, but could change it up a bit. By the fourth or fifth day, we had sampled anything that looked remotely interesting. Things should shift part of the way through the trip.
Great stateroom. Well serviced.
Not great communication with the ship. For example, on the excursion to Balmoral Island, no one ever told us that we could come back one of three times. Several people left a beautiful island on a gorgeous day because they thought they had to take the 1:30 ferry. Need for better communication.
Left on the day of the bike race in the city. Was a real problem getting in with the Henry Hudson Parkway being shut down. Not much Norwegian can do about that, but let the travelers know this was happening.
Casino much too small for the size of the ship. Crowded with so many cigarette smokers. People using casino as smoking lounge. Walking with lit cigarettes nearly burning people as they passed. Perhaps two different casino's on board. One for smokers one for non smokers.
Atrium too small for big games such as Deal or No Deal. Not enough seating.
Loved the cabin. In between two sets of elevators. Great shower! Nice balcony. Good steward. Asked to always have ice and always did. Had to make up a bed for our third guest and he did it twice every day.
We did the Balmoral Beach Day. Loved it. Clean, warm water. So beautiful. Would definitely do it again.View All 108 Balmoral Island & Sting Ray Experience Reviews
