We cruised "The Allure" in 2012. So, I'm able to do some comparison. Getting off and on this massive ship was a breeze. We did all the online documentation so, we were able to bypass all the lines. We walked off with our luggage at 630am.

We have always done My Time Dining with no issues. This time was another story. MTD is a broken system on Allure that needs a lot of attention. We were on Radiance Alaska cruise in August. MTD we only had to wait up to 5 minutes. We always had to wait in a long line then wait longer in the lobby area. When the line extended into the elevator areas we choose to get pizza at sorrentos(which is good) and another night at windjammer which was equally crowded. Windjammer is a fast past buffet area so, be ready to keep the flow moving. If your the one to looking at the food your also the one disrupting movement.

Lounging at the pool areas was stress free. Don't bother saving lounge chairs. There's plenty of them. When one area got to hot for us we had no problem finding multiple chairs in another area. Solarium gets hot. There's a 2nd floor area that gets a nice breeze.

If your looking for a nice relaxing spa area your not going to find it on Allure. There is no public saunas here. We paid the extra $200 for the Thermal Spa. Small spa area consisted of 4-heated chairs to lay on, 3 different sauna rooms and 2 rain showers. Got busy and loud in there at times. Disappointing for such a massive size ship.

Port: Naussa- Walked to John Watlings Distillery. 30 min walk from port. Has some uphill walking. Free simple tour. 4 samples of rum $14.

Cozumel: Paradise Beach. Clean Private beach. Nice big pool. Taxi ride $16 each way. $3 per chair. They ask that you spend $10. There's a taco food truck. Tacos were $3. Large drinks were $14. Water sports are additional. Good for families, couples, groups.

Roatan: We have never been to this port. We did a zipline and beach tour. So glad we did as there's no where to explore outside of the port.

Costa Maya: We had planned on grabbing a cab to Mahahual Beach. But, due to our late start ended up staying in the port shopping area. There's a pool area to rent chairs. We got massages. Was $85 for couples massage. 45-min. Well worth it.

Ships Condition we all agreed is in excellent shape. Was very clean and well maintained. Our room looked brand new to us. On second day we had a brand new couch put in. I did see a couple areas where there was stains on public areas carpet. But, to be expected.

There just never seemed to be enough areas to eat comfortable at. We could not understand why windjammer closes at 3:30 on port days. Everyone is getting back on ship hungry. Going to Park Cafe and Sorrentos is a madhouse at this time. Again long lines. And forget it if you want a soda in Park Cafe. They also make Seattles coffee there. Takes forever to make a coffee. TIP: There's a bar outside Park Cafe. Get your soda there.

Aqua and Ice Skating shows were amazing. Watching a movie in the Aqua Theatre is very cool. Zip lining and Rocking Climbing were Alluring. Lol.

We were in general disappointed this time on Allure. She's not as well oiled as she was 6 yrs ago. She's a beautiful ship but obviously understaffed and needs to offer more eating areas for the masses. Not more specialty restaurants you pay an additional $25-$35 for.

Cabin Review

Ocean View Balcony
Cabin 4D 7194

Large Balcony Room. I can't recommend. Balcony was large but had no loungers. Only 2-chairs and a table. Paid extra for a large balcony should include loungers like on other large balcony rooms.
