I am not even sure where to begin with how to describe our experience on MSC Seaside. On one hand, we had a lovely time because we paid for the Yacht Club which kept us separated from the rest of the ship, which was an absolute disaster.
Embarkation was wonderful, although they keep you waiting outside for far too long, once a “butler” comes to greet you, they escort you through VIP security and then take you to the Yacht Club check in area where you sit and relax drinking champagne, juice, coffee, etc. and have snacks while they do all the check-in processes for you. They simply call your name when they are ready for you, take your picture, and you are done. Then they escort you to the gangway to scan you in where an official Yacht Club butler takes you to the lounge. I really wish we could just do what we wanted when we go onboard but it is their “thing” and I get it. We took that opportunity to register our credit cards to our Sea Pass cards (or whatever they call them), and we also made our specialty dining reservations.
A HUGE MISS HERE FOR MSC…you should be able to book your restaurants and register a credit card BEFORE YOU BOARD. It takes up an unnecessary amount of time to do this after boarding.
We stayed in Cabin 16053 – it was a “deluxe suite” – smallest suite we have ever stayed in. No king bed, which was a first. Balcony was big enough, but still small. Room was VERY clean and well attended. NOTE ON THIS ROOM: You are below the “Jungle Pool” and they start setting up chairs at 6:45 AM. You WILL hear it.
