This vacation was a dream from start to finish. It was our fourth cruise and the first for our two sons and their spouses. We flew into Fort Lauderdale. Group ranged in age from 36 to 62.

Pre-Cruise Hotel: Spent the pre-cruise night at the Hyatt Regency Bonaventure Resort (room rates were excellent, better than some mid-priced hotels). We were departing the weekend the Pro Bowl was in Miami. Miami hotels near the port were booked. Fort Lauderdale is very close to Miami and airfare to FLL is often cheaper than airfare to Miami. One Gallery - Doubletree is another great FLL hotel. (Reasonably priced, all suites, three blocks from One Gallery Mall, about three blocks from the beach, and on the water taxi route). It's good to be near a mall or shopping area, where you can pick up items you may have forgotten.

Transportation to Port: We used "Go Shuttle" for transportation to the hotel and Jewel Limousines for transportation to Miami. Jewel Limo is excellent and reasonable - their website is worth checking out (it lists pricing) for port transportation.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

There were three couples and we all stayed in Junior Suites on Deck 10. These suites are worth every dime. Plenty of closet room; deep soaking tub and shower, comfortably sized balconies and enough room to entertain 2-4 guests. We were only one floor down from the Windjammer Buffet and pool decks - eliminating an elevator wait. Our stateroom steward was excellent. A balcony makes all the difference in the world. There is nothing like having morning coffee with an unobstructed view the ocean; watching the ship arrive and depart from a port; or relaxing on a lounge chair under the stars -- on your own private balcony.
