My daughter in-law had visited Cuba on a shorter NCL Sky cruise and liked it. We had to bypass Harvest Caye due to weather conditions, but that was the only drawback. I enjoyed the singers and dancers and the friendliness of CD staff and crew, though I never could understand why Cruise Director Dingo Dave was always laughing. Maybe he didn't let us in on the joke he was thinking about. The Inside Cabin was larger than those I had occupied on many other NCL ships and that was great. The menu selections have improved as well. We did not use an NCL Tour. My daughter in-law recommended a private service on Cuba and we had been to Costa Maya before. It's funny, but this was my 15th NCL cruise and it's the first time I've been to Great Stirrup Caye. Enjoyed the buffet there and had a drink as well.
The biggest criticism I have ever heard about NCL is the size of their cabins. I wish the newer ships would have larger cabins like the Sun and Sky. This was comfortable shared by 3 ( my son, his Mother in-law and I ). The last time I had a cabin shared with 2 others, it was on one of the newer ships. They are nice, but the cabin size is a drawback. In fact, my daughter and her husband use Princess for that very reason.
