We got a great deal to go to Grand Cayman and Cozumel out of our hometown of Tampa on my birthday week with a full moon. Brilliance is a lovely ship, and we had no problems with crowds, service or cleanliness. It is a ship..and the only rust we saw was underneath the balcony rail above.
In Grand Cayman, having already parasailed and dove the wallon previous trips, we rented a car and drove to HELL for my 65th...then on as far as Caywood beach. Wish we had more time...but Andy's Rent a Car was excellent and economical.Reserved online at home, but we had to borrow a phone to call them for pick up at cruise terminal.
In Cozumel we took a taxi to Playa Corona where we had a lovely day, friendly staff and great food. $10 minimum pp food/drink purchase which was easy with 4 of us...pretty sea fans and colorful"friendly" fish. Highly recommended...we rather forgo loud party places, but there was a Skyreef club next door that had that flair.
Obstructed view over lifeboat roofing. I'd prefer to see the waves, but we could hear them. Centrally located, fantastic steward and great value.
We live in Tampa and love the short drive to the port. Visitors have many options before and after your cruise...and our trolley is free for the next 3 years! Fl Aquarium, Riverwalk, US Victory ship, The Sail Pavilion, Columbia at History Center, Ulele Ybor City.. and now you can take a passenger ferry to downtown St Pete !
We rented a car via phone call reservation prior to departure. Andy's Rentacar was prompt and efficient in pick up from terminal, but you need to call them and we had no service in Cayman Friendly tour driver let us use his phone, we had a lovely drive to Hell and back, then as far as Caywood Beach.
Walked thru the voracious venders at the terminal and took a taxi to Playa Corona. The driver had his laminated "preferred" spots to sell, but gladly Playa Corona wa recommended by a friend and did not disappoint.
