Overall we had a great time on this cruise and are taking another cruise (different port and ship) next year. Embarking was long as expected, but ran smoothly. The overall atmosphere was fun and my kids had a great time. The specialty food places were all good, the bar staff were friendly and had great memories for faces and drink orders, and there was plenty to do to keep us all busy.
There were a lot of people get seasick, including my son, due to the waves, but the cruise really can't control the weather. At one point the water was not working due to a main breaking, and this would have only been a minor inconvenience had it not been for a) this was the day everyone was sick, and b) this was supposed to be elegant dress night.
We were rather disappointed with the food in our dining room- we were assigned the Paris dining room. We ate there 3 of our 5 nights, and while the service was great, the food was very much sub par. I believe this was a chef issue. On Thursday night I ordered the lamb and didn't finish most of it as it was overcooked, fatty, and bland. But the very next night they were serving lamb at the buffet and this one tasted much better.
The room was cozy. There were 5 of us so it was naturally a bit cramped, but our steward did a great job keeping the room clean.
