The good - Our room stewards, our waiter and wine steward and most of the folks in the Lido especially Jen and "the Sandman." The cleanest of all 4 ships we have sailed on with HAL -and the crew was the fussiest about it especially in the LIDO.
The best - cruise director Bruce, the Captain, Luisa in Guest services. Jim and Charles were 2 of the best lecturers we have encountered cruising
Average - food still not up to other cruise ships.Good , nourishing not great. Surcharges ?. The pinnacle is just not a pinnacle , excluding the Indian dinner.
The noise was never ending. Actually 20 hrs per day . The carts rumbled continually between the dish washer and the kitchen. The garbage bins sounded like a jet leaving the ground. Anyone with hard heels said hi to those below. Couldn't get away from the noise by going to the balcony as the Lido overhang is so great. That overhang also makes the room dark. . For a couple that enjoys the sun and stars and sitting on the balcony we had nothing. Upon embarking we found that the TV and video did not work. It took us 4 days to get it changed out and only a threat of cancelling 3 booked cruises motivated the (lack of) Guest services to rattle the maintenance dept. Someone wrote on the TV in felt pen that it was broken. Recommend that one stays on deck 6 as they actually charge more to be under the LIDO (?) Thankfully we bailed out in Santiago.
