We wanted to explore as much of Hawaii as possible with as much convenience as possible so NCL Tour/Cruise was the best choice. We spent three nights in the Hilton Hawaiian Wakiki Village and went on two of the excursions included. The room was spacious and had a really good view of the fireworks Friday night. We went to the Ioni Palace and the Polynesian Cultural Center evening Luau and Show which, unfortunately, was not included even though the daytime Cultural Center was.. We picked up the rest of the first day excursion with the Grand Circle Tour which included airport drop off. Try Goofy's around the corner and Bluewater Shrimp and Seafood in the village for unique taste treats. Embarkation was a breeze compared to other cruises I have been on . Disembarkation was just as easy. I had a complete joint replacement and the ship excursion staff made it easy to get on the excursions as well as the tour guides and even the ship security getting back on.. We did one Activity 1 excursion every day so we had little time to enjoy the ship except for meals and evening entertainment which were very good. The best excursion was the Blue Hawaiian helicopter ride and tour in Kauai which was expensive but worth every dollar. The same could be said for the overall cost of the trip. 8 years ago, I was told that the Pride of America was a bad choice due to the staff, food and the cleanliness of the ship. This year, nothing could have been further from the truth. The staff were courteous, friendly, professional, and caring. The ship was spotless and our cabin kept furnished and cleaned. The food was very good. Freestyle cruising is different from other cruises I have experienced but has its plus and minus values. Tips: Expect a $15 corking fee for each bottle of wine unlike other ships and get the WiFi package up front because it is not available later and what is available costs more.

Best way to see Hawaii

Cabin Review

Balcony
Cabin BE 8670
The cabin was spacious and had a balcony to relax, wine and enjoy the scenery except in some ports that were industrial. Mark kept our cabin spotless and stocked up. Added touches were little towel animals and complementary strawberries. Although I opted for prepaid gratuities, we still left $50 for Mark for such an outstanding job.
