Just back from another wonderful 7 night Southern Caribbean cruise aboard the Caribbean Princess. This was our 6th cruise-4th with Princess. We went on Carnival last year-it was nice to be back on a Princess ship. We went down the day before and stayed at the Old San Juan Sheraton-A cruise package deal-This will be my only complaint-Our room was small-not dirty but very worn- stained carpet etc.and there was a not so pleasant odor that my wife did not appreciate. Also a great view of the parking garage. Was not worth even 1/5 of what we paid and wont be heading back there anytime soon. Now onto the import stuff. Princess picked us up and we were on our way at 2:00pm just as promised. We were all checked in and in our stateroom within 20 minutes of arrival. We have always had a balcony room but this was our first in the BA category where you have a larger balcony. Definitely worth the extra$. Our room steward was awesome and we never wanted for anything. In St Thomas we did the 1/2 day champagne catamaran ride to St. John. It was fun but the crew was a little rowdy to suit me. We then went to Dominica where we planed to spend the day walking around-This was our first time to Dominica, not what I had expected but we got to see their Mardi Gras celebrations and parade. Then on to Granada were we did the spice tour. Very informative and we learned alot about the island. Next-Bonaire for a snorkel trip to Klein beach, always great snorkeling there. Last stop in Aruba were we did a beach break. All excursions were from Princess. I know they are more expensive but I am chicken about not getting back and I find their excursions to be a good value for the money. The ship was full but never seemed crowded. The staff were all very friendly. We only ate in the dining room on the first formal night and the food was good. There is just so much to do that we find grabbing a bite at the buffet fits better, The food in the buffet was always good. Plenty of good sea food and meats as well as salads and fruits. Of course we did the burger place once which was good and had pizza a couple of times as well (Can Carnival share their pizza recipe with Princess LOL) We did the EZ bag check for disembarkation. So worth the $20 a piece. Received our luggage tags and boarding passes the night before. Picked up our luggage and took through customs, never to be seen again until we got home. We were one of the first off the ship-Princess transfer to the airport-through USDA with our carry on, through TSA and at our gate by 9:30 am No lines what so ever. Within minutes after we arrived the lines stretched on for miles. What a great vacation-Thank you Princess so much and thanks to all of the cruise critic members who share so much cruising knowledge and tips.It really makes cruising fun

We had Caribe deck 10 602. The extra balcony room was worth the extra cost and the room was very nice. It was also a very quiet location and we were never bothered by any type of noise at all
