Let me preface by saying I've never sailed with Princess before and after my experience with them, I'm not in a hurry to sail with them again.
Pre-cruise: You get spammed with info regarding when, where and how to board. GREAT, but you only need to send this info once, maybe twice. However not only did the send this info almost 6 to 7 times, a couple emails gave us false info that our boarding time was a day and and an hour late. In sheer panic (since we were out of towners), we spent 2 hours trying to get someone to debunk the email as an error message. Major frustrating event!
Service: Hit or miss. Most employees including room steward, wait staff and crew members were friendly but we felt we were dealing with concierge more than we needed to address a few issues we encountered. Our steward was less than attentive to our needs, when our shower leaked everywhere. We requested towels from him right away to clean up the flood, but he never showed up in time. Staff overall seemed less than enthusiastic and burned out. This was a repositioning cruise between their Alaska and Mexican Riviera seasons, it seems like everyone hadn't had a break.
Our mid-ship Veranda room was average. Nothing special about the interior, okay amount of space, beds were comfortable, ample storage and showers were probably the best seller, a nice pressure. However, this same shower LEAKS WATER EVERYWHERE on floor if not careful with shower curtain. Our toilets were a BIG ISSUE. The pressure system in the toilets for our floor kept backing-up and causing issues. This happened several times while afloat. Not convenient or comfortable for anyone!
