I choose the cruise for opportunity to visit Havana and the Sun did not disappoint!! Thanks to cruise critics roll call feature, we were invited to a Meet and Mingle event on the Sun where we were treated like VIPs and welcomed by a senior officer of the ship and the activities Director. Also, through the CC roll call, we had chance to meet others interested in an in-depth and customized tour of Havana and it’s countryside attractions of Fusterlandia and Hemingway’s home in advance of the cruise. This enabled five of us to book two classic cars with drivers and tour guides with HavanaJourneys for six hours for total of 260 CUC (approx$298) or average $60 each! Incredible experience meeting these guides and drivers and getting insiders view of the country. Truly people to people! And they even stayed with us for extra 2 hours to insure we saw everything we had hoped to see. Meanwhile the folks on the Sun couldn’t have been more accommodating. We received exceptional service at every turn! Especially enjoyed our dining experiences at every site-from the deck 11 buffets to the traditional dining on 5 but must confess that the Bistro, Cagneys and los lobos really spoiled us and provided superlative service. And the entertainment was exceptional. Tremendously talented singers and dancers in dazzling, tightly choreographed creative productions-don’t miss these shows!!! And the magician and the comedian offered a more relaxed pace in between. While we usually get s balcony room, we ended up in an inside cabin 9312 but found it surprisingly spacious (and well located)-and Edwin kept our room in top notch shape and proved a master at towel creatures to welcome us each night. Finally, when some of the stray winds from Hurricane Michael made it too risky to visit our first port of call (private island), the Sun credited all the passengers with approx extra $36 and then intensified and added activities on board to keep everyone happy. Now that’s what I call a wellrun and responsive Ship. Thanks again
