Having arrived in Budapest from NZ, over 32 hrs in transit, we were informed that due to low water levels Avalon Panorama could not sail from Budapest to Vienna. However we saw Viking, Uniworld, Tauck and many European River Cruise lines sailing to Vienna. We were rather disconcerted by this!
We had our first night Tuesday in hotel( lovely Hilton) then bus to Vienna. Ordinary bus not coach! We were paying Suite rates of over $1350.00 NZD per day for 2. Boarded our ship in Vienna. Second day bus back to Bratislava from Vienna.Did not sail until Early Saturday morning!
On board and sailing was fantastic! Panorama Suite lovely! Food fabulous and service.
We loved our cabin with slide back full Panorama doors. Lovely L’Occitaine bathroom products. But not enough days to enjoy as on bus too often!
Lovely little town and interesting walk in the village.
Shown the gorgeous highlights of Vienna by bus and walking tour.
Wandered into village of Dürnstein...stunning scenery and interesting guide.
