Where to begin! When I started reading reviews on the Harmony of the seas, I got a little worried. most reviews that I read was that they are very expensive or that the food was awful. that is so not true. This was my 8th cruise. I have been on many different ships from NCL sky to the Escape. Carnivals Dream and Magic. so I was used to knowing what to somewhat expect from this line.
Embarkation: I was really shocked we arrived at a little after 10:00 am from our hotel. met with the porters. they asked if our bags were there we said yes. he then said I've got everything you go ahead and enjoy your trip. wow amazing right. so friendly. we walked in and were greeted with a wonderful security staff. waited in line for maybe 5 mins and were on our way to check in. 10 mins later we were taking our photo and heading up the escalators. I was shocked to see no one sitting there waiting. we were greeted by Royal Caribbean security and they scanned our sail and sign card. and say your all set. I have never ever been able to board a ship that fast. I always have to wait until 11:00am or sometimes even 12pm. this was an amazing start to our cruise.
First thoughts getting on the ship. WOW it looked like I stepped in to a mall. it was so grand and awesome. I had to stop by the guest service desk to deposit money too my onboard account it was simple and fast. I was pleased with the level of service given at that time. from there we went to look around as we were not very Hungary because we just ate breakfast ( if we had known we would have gotten something light to eat.).
I was in love with how much space there was I never once felt like I needed more space. our stateroom steward. just didn't do what we wanted her to do. we asked for the beds to be separated. she only separated them about 2inches. the next night about 5" finally we moved the nightstands and seaperated them the full amount.
we stated the night before at the crown plaza near the airport/cruise port it was great loved sitting on the deck relaxing before the cruise the next morning.
I was not too impressed. san Juan being a part of the us doesn't help this port I like to shop and I felt like I was at home with having to pay taxes on everything, but I was able to do a little shopping. also we only spent a few hours here which was unfortunate
I enjoyed the beach and buffet. but the water was dirty. royal Caribbean did have a lot of help trying to keep it clean but the plastic in the water killed me, and it makes me rethink using plastic bottles.
I have been to st maarten before I loved it the first time. it was def different this time as hurricane marie and Irma hit them everyone was still very pleasant but you could see where the sand was coming up the walkways.
