This cruise was chosen mainly for its exciting new northern itinerary out of San Francisco. Though I had been to each of the cities before, we found this an exciting addition when added onto the end of the Southern coastal. Therefore we did a back to back offering us 14 wonderful days on the Grand Princess. Captain Diego Perra greeted us all warmly as he traversed the ship; he and his staff were personable and gracious, and they were always available to the passengers' every need. The dining rooms are segmented into small intimate sections never giving the impression of a massive dining hall. The cuisine was impressive with a menu reflecting the areas visited. The entertainment was highlighted by the impressive singers and dancers offering 3 production shows PLUS a masterful homage to choreography featuring each of the dancers performing the styles of Agnes de Mille, Gower Champion, Jerome Robbins, Bob Fosse to mention a few. It was an outstanding production. Though the Grand was the first of it's massive size, it maintains an intimacy which was most desirable. I look forward to my next visit on the Grand which is scheduled for July, this time doing an Alaskan round-trip.

The forward cabins offer a great opportunity to walk the entire length of the ship frequently throughout the day. They are adequate sized for two, spacious for one traveling alone.
