My husband and I had never seen the fall foliage, so we picked this cruise to see that and also how Norwegian and their freestyle dining worked. We loved the freestyle dining and being able to eat when and where we wanted. The shore excursions we booked on the ship were all great and interesting, and when the time of the ships's port arrivals changed, we didn't have to worry about our tours. Our room steward was SO friendly and wonderful and greeted us by name and was there to serve our every whim. The entertainment was so-so and not as fun as some other cruises we have been on. The ship itself was very hard to navigate, and we have been on 15+ cruises on other cruise lines with no problems. The floor plans were just chopped up and difficult to find your way. Our stateroom was very spacious, especially the bathroom. We had a Mini-Suite with Balcony room on the 11th floor toward the back of the ship. It was convenient for the buffet and restaurants. The employees were very good, with the exception of being able to flag down some of the bar staff for drinks. They seemed to ignore people. The food was very good and maybe the best food of all the ships we have been on. Aqua Restaurant had a great ambiance and friendly staff. We had the Ultimate Beverage Package, and that was great. It was much easier than most ships, and all we had to do was show our room card--no signing or tipping. Tips were included. Be aware that once you get back in the U.S., there is a tax on beverages that will be billed to your cabin.
Good location. Spacious cabin. Quiet, except at 1:00 a.m. when they moved furniture around every evening in the restaurant above us.
