Have taken other cruises with Princess and have been very happy. However the Star was disappointing from the room to the food. The steward was either overwhelmed or didn't care about keeping the room. There was obvious mold in the sink grout and shower. The room stunk like stale urine. We had a leak in the shower that we complained about for 3 days before it was finally fixed properly. We were hoping that would stop the smell, but the smell was there throughout the cruise.
The food has been good on other cruises, but not so much on the Star. I preferred the food at the international coffee bar to the dining room. We ate at one of the specialty restaurants, but the quality of food there was not much better. We did have a wonderful server in the dining room we sat with quite a bit.
We were called and asked to change rooms, but we wanted a specific area. We never did get a room assignment and had to wait for them to sort out the room (someone else had been assigned to the room).
On the plus side, the entertainment was very good. Everything we saw was very good, and they had one of the funniest comedians I have ever seen.

We just got on the ship.
We went on our own to Pacific Grove.
Mostly went for the hotel del coronado. The tour guides were very good on the buses. The island was beautiful and the hotel was quite nice. If you plan to eat there, the prices are very high ($28 for a salad and $21 for a burger. The watermelon salad was very good the burger was not, but the fries were very good.View All undefined undefined Reviews
We took the magic bus tour. Based on the 60's Summer of Love. Included Fillmore District, Haight Ashebury, and other popular spots at the time.
