My wife and I cruised exclusively on Princess for many years and stayed on cruise ships months at a time. Needless to say we reached the Elite level some time ago. One of my favorite cruise ships was the old Caribbean Princess (before renovation) ugly ice cream cone and all. The food on that ship was very good. We recently took a 10 day cruise and were pleasantly surprised by the new renovation. The crew and service were terrific as usual. The new layout, decor and amenities of the Caribbean Princess were a joy to see. The cabin spacious and spotless and there are no shortage of entertainment day and night.

However when we reached the buffet we were dismayed at the selection and quality of food time and again. It was by far the worst eating experience on a Princess cruise ever. Most of the meat was served stuffed with something, MeatLoaf, stuffed pork, stuffed lamb and even stuffed chicken. Sandwiches are plentiful if you want one for lunch or dinner. Cold stuffed lamb was served in a cheap gray paper plate, meatless spaghetti sauce in a jar and self service wine and beer machines. You get the drift. It is all about cutting cost and in this case to a fault.

As a stock holder of CCL and frequent cruiser, I hope the food offering on the Caribbean does not become the norm on other Princess ships since I heard plenty of complaints from fellow passengers.
