We chose this cruise for the locations. It takes the full 14 days of cruising to see NE/Canada. Celebrity offered this round trip from Cape Liberty. This is so much easier than the 10 day I had done before where it was NYC to Quebec City and then you have to find your own way back home.

Let's start with the pre-cruise experience:

We decided to stay at the Hilton Newark Penn Station for ease of sight seeing in Lower Manhattan. The hotel is perfect for catching PATH train to NYC. No problems with hotel and would definitely recommend if your objective is to see the One World Tower area. The train station seemed confusing as far as where to buy your tickets and to locate platforms. Simply find a ticket machine and read the directions! Locating the platforms got easier as we traveled back and forth and learned the system. ( ok, this may be easy peasy for most of you but our town only has a yellow blinking light....so don't hate...!!!) Many people warned of the homeless people in the train station but they didn't seem to be doing anything but hanging out. Very few were begging for money. They are nothing like some foreign countries where they harass and follow you. PATH train was interesting place to people watch also! Most people just buried their nose in their phone and never made eye contact with anyone. I am from the south and we have a tendency to smile and strike up a conversation. (which I did with a most pleasant father and cute daughter who were spending the day together.) One can learn so much about the world by extending a smile and a hello. Back to the review, the train took us directly to the Oculus, which is a beautiful building. From there we went up into the One World Tower. We wanted to go late in the evening when the city lights came on, but time didn't jive with the setting sun. We returned next day and worked our way down to Staten Island Ferry for a ride around the harbor to see the "Lady". Thank you, New Yorkers, for providing such a lovely, historic, clean and safe city for us to enjoy!

Can't beat this wonderful extra large window. Too cool to use a balcony on this trip so glad we chose this Oceanview category.
