I chose this cruise because of the size of the ship and the cruise lines reputation.

Embarkation was sooo easy... best ever actually... our cabin was huge, loved it. Our butler, Richard was lovely, very attentive and anticipated all our needs. Entertainment was ok... nothing to write home about.... but the ports, service and ship.... perfect! Read so many negative reviews before sailing- was bit worried, and although the ship isn't new or glamorous, it was clean, few wear marks... but i was looking after all i had read. They made no difference to the trip. The staff were amazing... Alaska was beyond what I thought- every port great- we missed Juneau due to weather.. that was :o( as we really were looking forward to it- but that was no ones fault....

The only thing that was bad- truly bad.... we booked the rocky mountaineer for the trip before cruise (not thru silversea) but many were on board that had. To say it was bad, was an understatement,,,, the staff were young, and very impatient, unhappy and entitled. It was pricey... and i can honestly say the worst trip i have ever taken. Silversea may want to rethink their partnership. Reading online after- we saw so many negative reports with the same complaints we did. Think long and hard before you splurge for this- they should be ashamed to charge what they charge. Shameful.
