Cabin: Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom

We enjoyed a very nice 12 day cruise on the Oosterdam. We took a water taxi direct from our Venice hotel to the ship, so easy. Embarkation was a snap.

Our aft cabin was clean and spacious and our cabin stewards Edy and Oman were very gracious and helpful.

We would have liked a Tamarind on board for a 12 day voyage so we dined at Pinnnacle Grill five nights. Katalin was our server for three nights and she made a huge difference. The MDR food and service was actually pretty good. One night we dined in Canaletto and it was just ok. The Lido and room service breakfasts were very good.

Port Reviews

Venice

We loved our stay for two nights at Hotel Becher. Did many sights on our own and had perfect weather.

Split

Split was ok, really did not explore much besides the Diocletian’s Palace.

Dubrovnik

Breathtaking scenery.

Sarande

Went to Three Islands at Ksamil Beach and it was amazing. Biggest surprise of the trip. Gorgeous beach with crystal clear water. Great food and service and friendly people.

Katakolon (Olympia)

Rented a car and toured Olympia. Then went to Kourata Beach which was pretty nice and enjoyed a good lunch.

Malta (Valletta)

Absolutely beautiful city. Clean and fascinating culture and architecture. Had dinner off the ship at Panorama which was well worth skipping the MDR on the ship.

Palermo (Sicily)

The main city was not great but we then took a taxi to Mondello Beach and it was fantastic. Clear shallow water perfect for swimming. Excellent lunch with fresh swordfish and octopus.
