This was our 7th Med cruise - we chose this cruise based on the itinerary and the price. Because we don't typically drink the equivalent of what the value/gratuities are on the drink package, nor utilize the ship's shore excursions, spa services, or internet, we were very content to book an inside guarantee cabin without any perks and save our money for adventures in port.

To begin with, almost any Med itinerary works for us! Even if you repeat a port, the advantage is with each destination you can make it brand new by doing something completely different. The two ports we had not been to, Cannes and Palma de Majorca were great additions.

We boarded in Civitavecchia after spending three nights in Rome. We hadn't been to the port in five years and were glad that we took the bus from the train station to the port as they've changed it around a bit. Boarding was smooth as the majority of passengers embark in Barcelona.

Port Reviews

Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)

Local bus is an easy way to get into town. The bus leaves right outside the terminal. It does not return there. On the return, it lets you off just outside the port area (across a busy street)

Barcelona

Booked an excursion through Viator. It was an excellent tour of La Sagrada Familia.

Naples

We booked a private excursion to Amalfi through Strictly Amalfi. Excellent day but every place was way too crowded except Ravello where we started.

Cannes

Pleasantly surprised. We really enjoyed it.
