My sister in law and I have been planning a cruise to Alaska for about two years now since I live in Seattle, and she’s in California, and her, and her husband ate able to just fly up to visit, then we can hop onboard with no problem. As a former Disney cast member I was thinking maybe Disney Cruise. As a former AAA travel agent that promoted Holland America Seahawks cruise, and I loved the Westerdam back in the early 2000s I thought maybe. Also being a travel consultant for Carlson Wagonlit I’ve inspected most of the ships, and as a member of Royal Caribbean mariners former cruiser I thought RCCL. But then I heard of a new ship called the Bliss and I couldn't resist. We booked her in February. There were 4 of us. Midship balcony cabin. I booked it with my former boss of Travel Network Kent. We decided not to upgrade so we were guaranteed to have cabins next to each other. We reserved dining, shows, and excursions in advanced.

The jersey boys was our favorite show, Havana was nice, but since I’m a musical theater actress, I appreciate it more than the norm out there.

Thermal Spa week Pass is a must especially if you’re going to Alaska. We spent once a day if not twice. Bummer they close at 10pm. Because if you’re seeing a show, you won’t have time to spend at the spa. Or if your dining reservations are late, you’ll probably only have an hour to spend at the spa.

Mid-ship Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BA

Perfect for what we needed. I’m allergic to lemongrass so I was not able to use any of the soap, lotion, of body wash provided. However Joseph Cabelleros, Sopi our steward, and Danielle the hair stylist tried hard to find me something I could use during our cruise. Joseph left some blvgari products I was able to use for the duration. Amazing. The cabin was cleaned at least twice a day even if we didn’t need it. Only problem I noticed was during the end of our cruise the shower started getting clogged, and slow to drain. I don’t know why since I never washed my hair there, only at the salon.

The midship balcony portside is the way to go.

Victoria

Cheaper to take a taxi. Not a lot to do in Victoria, unless you booked an excursion or high tea. Been there so many times. We preferred to go back on ship, and take advatange of things to do on the ship our last night.
