We chose to take this cruise because we had never been to Cuba. The cruise included a full day and evening in Havana. The other two stops were not of real interest to us since we had been to both many times. Havana was very interesting. We have visited other Socialist countries but non as depressing as Havana. Yes, there were all the brightly painted 1950's-1960's Chevorlets to brighten the scene but the poverty was everywhere except for the New City portion where the officials live in relative splendor. The people were wonderful and friendly and work very hard for a mere subsistence living. I would like to go back and see some of the countryside and other cities such as Santiago.
The ship was freshly refurbished and was clean and pleasant. The entertainment was passable. The food was just okay. Food on other Norwegian ships such as the Getaway was much better. The buffet was very small and crowded. It only had one food line feeding from both sides of a small area. I did have very good omelets at the buffet at the rear of the ship. The other two ports were ho-hum. They were designed by the cruise lines to get you shopping so unless you took a shore excursion or went swimming that was all that was available to do. No towns to browse, etc. Just a bunch of newly built shops.
Our handicap cabin was very large but the bathroom and shower were smaller than usual in a handicap room. There was virtually no shelf space in the bathroom and very little storage space in the cabin.
