Cabin: Mid-Ship Balcony

NCL is always my first choice for cruising. I enjoy the freestyle dining ( dine at anytime you want, providing there is room). I particularly enjoyed the Sushi Bar ( not a freebie, but inexpensive and very good) on this ship. The cabin was always clean and tidy. The staff on board is always greeting you with a smile and a hello. The lounge entertainment is ok, not spectacular, but not horrible. The one complaint I had is the drinks seemed watered down. We chose the UBP as our add on, but every drink was a weak pour ( not even a full jigger) and tasted watery. We had a Bourbon &7 and it looked like straight 7up. It could be because of the UBP, they give you less in the glass because you can just order more, but the drinks were very watery. One thing I will do different next time is to make reservations for the specialty dining online before I board, or the same day as boarding. The early seating (5:30-7:00) fills up fast and all that is left is after 7:30pm. Looking forward to my next NCL cruise.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony

Cabin BA

As someone who suffers from motion sickness ( I can't go on a rollercoaster, or even look at them), I was surprised how calm the cabin was. I did not feel the swaying that I was expecting. It was the perfect location, 2 floors up or down from all the action. It was close enough to the stairs/elevators, but you could not hear any noise from either of them. Sailaways and sunsets from the balcony were nice. In room coffee maker was a nice way to start the morning. The balcony is a little cramped, but just enough room for two chairs and a small table.

Port Reviews

Quebec City

Old Town Quebec City is amazing. You can walk from the port into the old town. Bone up on your French, but most know some English.

Sydney (Nova Scotia)

Not much to do. You can walk the entire historic section ( about 3 blocks) in probably 1 or 2 hours. A few old buildings from 1700's. Very sleepy town

Halifax

Did not go to Peggys Cove. Did the self guided walking tour, which takes about 2 hours. Lots of restaurants so its a foodies paradise.

Bar Harbor

Walked the seawalk, looked at very pretty mansions, did some shopping on main street, had lobster roll at seaport restaurant. Nice place to dream of living in

Boston

How could you not like Boston? SOOOOOO much history. Did the hop on hop off bus with 2 day ticket. I used that as my mode of transportation instead of using the subway. The Holocaust Memorial was really moving...its a must see. Just being in the footsteps of our early history was amazing. Being on Old Ironsides, standing by the balcony where the Constitution was first read to the citizens of Boston, Going into the North Church, Paul Revers House. If you have kids...you MUST take them to Boston.
