Heard negative comments about sailing in big cruise ships but with Norwegian Epic, all we had were wonderful and memorable experience celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary. We never had any problem with embarkation and disembarkation because they are very organized despite having a large number of passengers. We visited Munich, Germany for 3 days, flew to Madrid, Spain and stayed for another 3 days, took a train to Barcelona, Spain before heading to the cruise ship the following day, Our cabin was well appointed and clean, There is a variety of good food and restaurants to choose from. No reason to get bored as there are plenty of entertainment and activities. Their staff are courteous and very helpful, Our shore excursions went smoothly. We were apprehensive at first when we went to Pisa, Italy thinking we would not be back on time but we did. For those who are planning to visit Rome, my advise is to start as early as 7 or 8 am to catch the train from the Port of Civitavecchia because it takes 1 hour to get to Rome and another hour to get back. Visiting Vatican City and its museum already took most of our day in Rome. The Hop On Hop Off tickets we bought was almost unused except to get us back to the ship on time from Vatican City to Termini Train Station. We stayed another 3 days in Barcelona at the end of our cruise. Overall, we had a great vacation!
