Sail Date: Jun 2018
Cabin: Large Ocean-View Stateroom

This was the second cruise I booked with HAL. I really enjoyed my first cruise which was also on the MS Rotterdam. Besides, this cruise had an overnighter in Stockholm, so when the price dropped a little in november 2017, I made my booking.

Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly, no problems at all for me.

My cabin was cabin 2517, a cabin with portholes instead of a window. I had one of the largest porthole cabins that are available. While traveling on my own it was quite large. The room was clean, and well tended to by the hut steward. Although the portholes didn't give a lot of light, it was very cosy and added to the ship-experience.

Cabin Review

Large Ocean-View Stateroom

Cabin G

My cabin had portholes, which added to the whole ship-experience. It was large enough, but I travel alone, so I don't need a lot of space. Enough space to stow away your suitcase (under the bed) and lots of hangers in the closets. Nice bathroom with a bathtub (not very large though, but good enough for me) and shower. Very good light to put on make-up (of shave if you have to). Cabin is in front. This can give some vibration while sailing. Hallway was very quiet, no night- of morning noises.

Port Reviews

Copenhagen

Wonderful city, but vast! Lots of things to see

Rostock (Warnemunde)

Warnemünde is not so big, you can easily walk around in an hour. But plenty of time to explore a little piece of Germany. The train is close to the cruise terminal, so off you go! Book a Meckelenburg-Vorpommern ticket in advance and you can travel by train in the provence all day long.

Tallinn

Tip: take a taxi to Toompea and do the old town on foot. And buy real Baltic amber as a souvenir. I know I did. Try to find the old monastary and Katarina Käik. It doesn't get any more medieval.

Helsinki

Nice city, especially if you love art nouveau! Visit the Russian orthodox church (Uspensi Cathedral) which was very beautiful. Helsinki however is expensive, like all Scandinavian cities.

Stockholm

Not a city known by a lot of people. Why not? It is one of the most pictoresque cities I've ever seen. It has a beautiful old city center, musea, culture, sites. I was glad we spent two days there!

Aarhus

I visited Den gamle By which was very nice, one of the greates open air musea I ever visited. Shops are realy working. Too bad it was a bit overcrowded because of the many cruiseships that layed in the port. In the city center you find two very beautiful churches worth a visit!
