The ship is far too outdated, small and therefore too boring to be selected to be part of the longer journey cruises.
Food quality and selection is my biggest complaint. It had the same LIMITED choices on all the buffets, for all 10 days. The main dining room did change up the menus, however the quality of their choices were not enjoyable. Dessert selection was consistently of poor quality and taste.
The cruise itinerary has 7 out of 10 as sea days so Carnival really needed to step up the on board activities. They did do fairly well in that department, however ship size limited their ability to do so.
Smoking that was allowed in the Casio flooded the entire floor where most of the on board activities occurred.
Very limited outdoor seating areas that were not in full sun and again the indoor sitting areas are located on the smoke filled floor.
Overall I loved the journey cruise but Carnival needs to change the ship for this sailing.
typical carnival room. No complaints or raves. Nothing noteworthy.
Took a cab to Mr. Sanchos - awesome day....GO!
private beach and animal sanctuary was PERFECT!!View All 460 Beach Reviews
The sloth sanctuary is two rooms each with about 4 cages of sloths. We unfortunately had the arrogant grandson of the owner ramble about his own greatness for the hour or so we were there. The most time you need in to fully experience the sanctuary is 10 minutes so the other 40 plus minutes was an unnecessary waste . After the let down of the sloth rooms we were taken a few steps away to the "river" for a "canoe" ride. In reality the river is a drainage system ditch. There you get to cram into a 6 person row boat to enjoy a 30 minute "ride" through the narrow drainage ditch with overgrown vegetation on both sides meant to simulate the rain forest. Zero wildlife encountered.
The tour guide was exceptional as was the bus ride to and from the sanctuary.View All 12 Sloth Sanctuary Reviews
