We are diamond members in RCCL and chose this cruise for the ports visited at a time of year when the Med is less crowded, has a beautiful temperature of between 25-30°C and there are few children on board.

We had booked flight and transport to the ship through RCCL. Due to await at the airport for other passengers and then having to pick up other passengers from a coach that had broken down on the motorway, we didn’t board the ship until lifeboat drill was in process! A bit late.

Our cabin on deck 9 was very quiet and the balcony was a good size. A little walk to the lifts but good exercise.

Cabin 2D

Very quiet cabin with a good sized balcony.

Port Reviews

Taormina (Messina)

This is a port where one should organise a day trip away as there is very little to see in the town which is dirty and not attractive.

Malta (Valletta)

Here one can easily take the lift from the cruise dock up into the center of Valetta. This is a very old anciet city which is easy to wander around and visit the world war 2 museum. If one is not taking a cruise excursion allow plenty of time to get back to the ship as the traffic on Malta can be horrendous in summer.

Mykonos

We took the RCCL trip to the family beach leaving the ship at 8.30 and arriving back at 13.00. A 30min drive. Being September the beach was nearly empty but still beautifully warm. There are different prices for the sunbeds, 25euros for the front two rows and 15 euros for the next rows. The beach was a very course sand. We felt this trip good value.
