I cannot agree with kimbaxters review of Oceana, and the recent cruise we were both clearly on. We have cruised several times with P&O, and with a number of other lines. The food on bord was good - yes there were some dishes that were not to my taste, but the waiters would immediately offer and fetch an alternative if they noticed I was not eating. The pool area was cleaned thoroughly every morning - I was generally up in deck early and can confirm that this was the case. All staff I came in contact with were friendly and would go out of their way to be helpful.
I was however disappointed with the general behaviour of some passengers. Leaving food strewn trays and rubbish over the deck area round the pool ; speaking rudely to deck stewards; pushing in front of other guests in the buffet - I could go on! Clearly, cruising is now at a price point that appears to attract a different clientele to a few years ago.
However, we had a great time. The ports were beautiful, the organised trips ( we did two) were well organised and good value. Our cabin was clean, looked after well by our steward and we loved the balcony.
Excellent
Used lift to get to town and visited War rooms and shops. Very interesting port
