First embarkation from Southampton for Discovery and we always wanted to visit St Petersburg, This is our second trip on the Discovery and weren’t disappointed with the ambience, food or entertainment. Embarkation was a piece of cake, straight through check in and luggage delivered to cabin by the time we had a coffee in the Snack Shack deck nine. There were six in our party( four plus two who had not been with Marcella before) but subsequent dining was a doddle ,it only took a couple of days to find a great waiter and team- table 29- in the 47# dining room.

Entertainment by the resident troupe was very good, how they remembered all the routines, only disappointment was that there was only one guest act the whole cruise, though Sebby Mercury was a joy ( one of the troupe)

Generally all the staff, front of shop and back room, were excellent and all attentive, and all team leaders were approachable and friendly.

Cabin Review

Cabin Plus

Slightly larger the the norm, double bed with the original mattress ( from Splendour of the Seas ) and a larger sofa bed,one seat for the dressing table, it could have had an extra chair and a coffee table,

Always kept clean by our steward (Max)

Downside was the noise of furniture and walking from deck above
