If you are planning a vacation on NCL getaway plan on being hungry. We were on a family vacation this past summer. We arranged to have our dinners at 5 pm every night. The first night it took 31/2 hours for our entire dinner service. And I'm sad to say that it did not get any better from then on. The wait staff in the dinning rooms(it didn't matter which dinning room we ate at) were absolutely awful. It's one thing to have adults wait but when you have young children who are hungry things get crazy. One night my brother got up out of his chair and got a pitcher of water because we were all thirty and had nothing to drink. By day 4 we couldn't take it any more and went to the cafeteria to eat at the buffet. Hot dogs and hamburgers were better then waiting 3 hours to eat.

I could not believe when we were told that to have your picture taken there was a sitting fee, and only one picture package that you had to pick the same picture and get copies of the same picture. What is the point of that. Other cruise lines take pictures of you all day long and you can mix the pictures up and get which ever pictures you want.

The entertainment was awful. In fact I would say that there was no entertainment. We were bored. Perhaps we were spoiled on Disney cruise line and Royal Caribbean cruise line. On the other cruise lines there is plenty of bar trivia or group games that everyone can play on NCL only a few people get chosen from a large crowd to play a game. Nothing to keep the children interested. Should focus more on family. Perhaps an indoor movie theather.
